MENTORSHIP + CONSULTATION

Build an arts initiative rooted in your neighborhood.

Creative Corridors shares ArtSpan’s experience coordinating artists, small businesses, installations, and public programs. It supports neighborhood organizations developing arts initiatives with their own communities.

Where the program comes from

Creative Corridors grew from ArtSpan’s work with the Excelsior Art Initiative and the Ocean Avenue Association ArtWalk. Those experiences informed a practical workbook for neighborhood-led art installations, business partnerships, artist selection, and community events.

Participating organizations lead the local project and budget for coordination, artist stipends, and production. ArtSpan’s mentorship or consultation provides the agreed tools and expertise to support that work.

Mentorship

For partners ready to lead local implementation, mentorship provides guidance through the work: defining goals, building artist and business relationships, shaping a call for artists, planning installations, and coordinating public activity.

The neighborhood partner leads its local program. ArtSpan provides the agreed guidance, tools, and check-ins.

Consultation

Consultation can focus on a particular decision or phase, such as assessing a space, setting a realistic budget, reviewing artist agreements, defining a curatorial approach, or planning an exhibition cycle.

What we plan together

  • Community goals and the people the program should serve
  • Partner responsibilities, staffing, and decision making
  • Artist compensation and a realistic project budget
  • Calls, selection, agreements, and installation logistics
  • Promotion, public programming, and documentation

Start with a conversation

Tell us about your neighborhood, the organization leading the work, the spaces involved, your timeline, and the support you need. We will help define an appropriate scope.
