Journal Building Artist Residency
ArtSpan’s Journal Building Artist Residency, at 1540 Market Street, is comprised of artists who work individually and collaboratively to promote sustainable arts communities in San Francisco. Journal Building artists present workshops, participate in SF Open Studios, present exhibitions locally, and fundraisers to provide art supplies for marginalized communities.

The Journal Building Artists Residency forms part of ArtSpan’s Art-In-Neighborhoods program which partners with building owners to artfully activate underutilized spaces in San Francisco. These activations take the form of exhibitions and/or the creation of below-market-rent studios.
